Here at Taleo World 2010, there are many stories of talent innovation on the agenda where HR is making a bottom line difference. Dozens of leading organizations are presenting their methods and strategies for success over these days of knowledge and networking.

These sessions underscore the business reality that talent management is innovation and create momentum with the sharing of award-winning talent innovation ideas. This year, the three finalists for the 2010 Taleo Innovation Awards are CDW, DaVita, and United Airlines.

CDW: Our end users are enthusiastic about the user interface. Performance Management compliance jumped from 62% in the old system to 98% in the new system. The consolidated view of our talent is also allowing our leadership to make strategic organizational changes in a much more efficient manner. Finally, we’ve realized significant bottom-line impacts – reducing our HR Technology spending by 48%.

DaVita: Creating a streamlined onboarding process has created several efficiencies by improving productivity, eliminating paper, and increasing compliance…Annually, we will save over 500,000 pages of paper a year, avoid 50,000 minutes of faxing a year and save on costly telecom fees.

United Airlines: As a result of this combined business and Taleo technology effort, United has had tremendous success in areas deemed critical to overarching business goals…Particularly gratifying is recognition received from the 2010 JD Power – North America Airline Satisfaction Study, results from which offer independent confirmation of the success of the “Focus on 5” program, supported by the rapid deployment of the Taleo Performance suite.

These are just some of the examples where HR organizations are using talent management and talent intelligence to make significant business impacts. And when the business succeeds, everyone wins.
