Global 500 Web Site Recruiting, 2000 Survey

The annual survey of the Global 500 companies by Taleo Research finds a strong adoption of recruiting on corporate Web sites.

  • In 2000, 79% of the Global 500 are recruiting on their corporate Web sites, up from 60% in 1999, and 29% in 1998.

Clear trends emerge in Web site recruiting, both geographically, and by industry

  • More than 90% of North American-based Global 500 companies recruit on their corporate Web sites, compared to 73% of European-based companies and 68% of companies headquartered in Asia or the Pacific Rim.
  • 100% of high tech companies in the Global 500 are recruiting on their corporate Web sites compared to 89% of retailers and 73% of financial services companies.

Taleo Research predicts

  • All Global 500 companies will be "Web Site Recruiters" (companies that use their corporate Web sites for recruiting) by 2002.
  • Internet technologies will centralize and integrate the entire corporate recruiting process into an e-business supply chain by 2003.
