Taleo Receives InfoWorld 100 Award
Dublin, Calif., — November 16, 2006 – Taleo Corporation (Nasdaq: TLEO), the leading provider of on demand talent management solutions, today announced that it has been recognized by IDG's InfoWorld for its innovative on demand technology infrastructure that supports over 720 customers, including 30 of the Fortune 100. The annual InfoWorld 100 awards honor IT projects that demonstrate the most creative use of cutting-edge technologies to further their business goals.
The backbone of Taleo's anytime, anywhere service is the data center infrastructure. Hundreds of Taleo customers worldwide, with more than 750,000 corporate users, rely on it for secure protection and the highest possible availability of their talent data, at access speeds that are the best in the industry. In order to continue delivering optimal on demand performance and record customer uptime while undergoing significant growth and controlling IT costs, Taleo migrated its IT infrastructure from UNIX to Linux.
"It is an honor to be recognized for our innovative approach to IT," said Brad Benson, executive vice president of product and technology and CTO of Taleo. "With our move to Linux, Taleo has achieved 99.9 percent availability while customer transaction volume has grown by 147 percent since the period prior to the project. We also have the ability to drive over 25 percent more transactions per server than before, adding to increased performance levels."
"It's been said that fortune favors the bold. The inspiration for this year's finalists to tackle such sweeping changes varies widely -- from reducing delivery time of products and services to replacing cumbersome legacy systems," said Richard Gincel, InfoWorld Senior Editor. "But regardless of the motivation, high ambition unites them all."
