Pre-employment Testing

Pre-employment testing is one of the initial stages of e-recruiting. Due to the large volume of online candidates looking for jobs, recruiters and HR personnel often use pre-employment testing to screen out unqualified candidates or poor matches early on in the recruitment process. Pre-employment testing is usually performed by automated, web-based profiling applications. This saves time, reduces costs and allows recruiters to customize tests online directly from their company career site or intranet. Recruiters can use pre-employment testing technology to focus on the candidates with the most potential from early on in the process. Some companies and organizations utilize precise online candidate assessment methods to test skills, qualifications, behavior, criminal background and personality.

Pre-employment testing programs are becoming increasingly more important to the online recruiting process. Testing a candidate’s skills and compatibility is a valuable process because while it may screen a candidate for a particular job position, it may also reveal the same candidate’s potential to fill another job position elsewhere in the company or organization.
